This functionality has the objective to **register the authorized and definitive
 versions of all Configuration Items (CI) of Software in a safe way**. It can have configuration items associated with licenses and documentation.

This feature provides a variety of actions, such as <font color="#3b9f0f">**including, changing, and
 deleting a definitive media**</font>.

## Procedure

1. Access the functionality through the main menu `Processes > Configuration
    Management > Configuration Item > Media Software`;
2. For creating a definitive media complete the fields available:

| **Field**                 | **Description**                                    |
| ------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| **Name (\*)**             | Name of definitive media                           |
| **Physical Address (\*)** | The physical address of the definitive media       |
| **Logical Address**       | The logical address of the definitive media        |
| **Type of Media (\*)**    | Select the type of media of the definitive media   |
| **Type of Software**      | Select the software type of the definitive media   |
| **License Type**          | Select the type of license of the definitive media |
| **No. of licenses**       | Set the number of licenses allowed for use         |
| **Version**               | Define the final media version                     |

*Fields with (\*) are mandatory*

### Licenses

| **Key**                      | Product key definition                                    |
| **No. of Usage Permissions** | Set the number of permissions to use the definitive media |

### Knowledge

| **Field** | **Description**                                                            |
| --------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Title** | Select the title of the knowledge you want to link to the definitive media |

3\. Click on "**Save**";

4\. To search for some definitive media access the "<font color="#3b9f0f">**definitive media search**</font>" tab and select the media to be able to view, edit or delete.
